This week sees earnings season kick off with a big week for bank earnings: US banks JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo are all set to report on Wednesday and Thursday. While it's expected that they'll report higher interest income from higher interest rates, there are worries it won't be enough to offset the hit to profits from declines in dealmaking. Other notable reports come from Delta Air Lines and UK supermarket titan Tesco on Wednesday and TSMC on Thursday.
On the economic front, there's the release of the UK's GDP numbers as well as inflation data later in the week. The US also gives its latest update on last month's inflation numbers on Wednesday.
