We all want financial freedom, but emotions often lead us down a path of high-risk, too-good-to-be-true investments or long-term savings and insurance plans that have the opposite effect.
The Financial Independence (FI) movement favours a low-cost, low-risk, passive investment strategy instead of speculative, high-risk investments. At the heart of this movement is the Bogleheads community, which follows the investment habits of Jack C. Bogle, founder of the world’s largest asset manager, Vanguard. The UAE chapter of the Bogleheads community – SimplyFI – is leading the charge toward FI with more than 11,000 Facebook group members. The group has helped thousands of expats in the Middle East to take control of their investment portfolio and optimize their returns.
On Sept 7th 2020, Finimize's Dubai community director Andréa Skerritt hosted Steve Cronin, founder of DeadSimpleSaving.com, and Sebastien Aguilar, founder of SimplyFI, on the the Bogleheads' investing philosophy.
