As the fourth quarter begins, it’s looking like a fairly quiet week for scheduled economic data and company earnings. But, like last week, we’ll be keeping an eye out for any developments in the China Evergrande story – with markets in mainland China closed until Friday for the Golden Week holiday. Here are the other key events we’ll be monitoring:
Tuesday Reserve Bank of Australia interest rate decision. Earnings from PepsiCo.
Wednesday Germany publishes factory orders data. iFit Health & Fitness starts trading following its initial public offering (IPO). Earnings from Tesco, Constellation Brands, and Levi's.
Thursday Another fitness firm, Life Time Group, starts trading following its IPO. Earnings from Tilray, Seven & i, and ConAgra.
Friday US employment data published – arguably the most important data point of the month. Reserve Bank of India interest rate decision. Markets in mainland China reopen following the Golden Week holiday.
