The third-quarter earnings season kicks off this week, with the big US banks in the vanguard as always. Here are some of the top events we’ll be keeping an eye on. 

Monday US government bond market closed for the Columbus Day holiday. Stock market is open. Property developer China Evergrande due to pay $148 million interest on three bonds. 

Tuesday Australian business confidence data and German ZEW Economic Sentiment Index published. Auction of 10-year US government bonds. 

Wednesday Chinese imports and exports data and US inflation numbers released. Minutes of last Federal Reserve policy meeting published. Payments firm AvidXchange starts trading following its initial public offering (IPO). Earnings from JPMorgan, BlackRock, Delta Air Lines, Wipro, and Infosys

Thursday Chinese inflation data published. Software development platform Gitlab and telecoms infrastructure provider IHS Holding start trading following IPOs. Earnings from TSMC, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Fast Retailing Co.

Friday US retail sales data released. French cloud services provider OVH starts trading after its IPO. Earnings from Goldman Sachs.
