It’ll be a huge week for company earnings, with the biggest US tech firms – from Apple to Amazon – reporting quarterly numbers. Oh, and there are also the small matters of a Federal Reserve (Fed) interest rate decision and Robinhood’s initial public offering (IPO). Here are the key events we’ll be monitoring: 

Monday Earnings from Tesla

Tuesday US publishes data on durable goods orders and house prices. Earnings from Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Visa, UPS, Starbucks, and Kering

Wednesday Fed interest rate decision. Germany releases consumer confidence data. Canada publishes inflation data. Language app Duolingo is due to start trading after its IPO. Earnings from Facebook, PayPal, Pfizer, Shopify, McDonald’s, Rio Tinto, Vale, GlaxoSmithKline, BASF, Ford, and Spotify

Thursday US economic growth data published. Robinhood due to start trading following its IPO. Earnings from Amazon, Samsung, Mastercard, Nestle, L’Oreal, AstraZeneca, ArcelorMittal, Volkswagen, Shell, AB InBev, Sanofi, Twilio (and many others). 

Friday US personal income and spending data released, with investors looking for signs of where inflation is heading. Eurozone publishes unemployment, inflation, and economic growth numbers. Earnings from Berkshire Hathaway, Procter & Gamble, Exxon Mobil, Hermes, and Caterpillar.
