After a few weeks in the doldrums, the calendar is starting to look pretty busy once more as the big US banks kick off second-quarter earnings season. Here are some of the events will be keeping tabs on this week:
Tuesday Earnings from JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and PepsiCo. US publishes inflation data. US government auctions 30-year bonds. Australia releases business confidence numbers. China releases data on imports and exports. International Energy Agency publishes oil market report.
Wednesday Earnings from Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Delta Air Lines, and Infosys. Eurozone releases industrial production data. UK publishes inflation numbers. Bank of Canada interest rate decision. Federal Reserve’s Beige Book of economic trends released.
Thursday Earnings from TSMC, Morgan Stanley, Wipro, and Fast Retailing Co. (owner of Uniqlo). China publishes economic growth data. US releases industrial production numbers. UK publishes employment data. Chicago Auto Show, biggest auto show in the US, opens its doors.
Friday Earnings from Ericsson. Bank of Japan interest rate decision. US publishes retail sales data.
