This week will see first-quarter earnings season begin in the US, with the big banks kicking things off as usual. And there will no doubt be a massive amount of attention on Coinbase’s stock market debut on Wednesday. Here are some of the big events our analyst team will be keeping an eye on:
Tuesday US releases inflation data. ZEW index of German economic sentiment published. Earnings from JD Sports.
Wednesday Earnings from Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, Tesco. Coinbase shares are due to start trading on the Nasdaq exchange. This is a so-called direct listing, rather than a traditional initial public offering (IPO). You’ll be able to buy the stock if your broker offers it.
Thursday US retail sales data published. Earnings from Bank of America, PepsiCo, Citigroup, BlackRock. Cathie Wood’s ARK Investment Management hosts Q1 markets recap.
Friday China publishes retail sales and economic growth data. Earnings from Morgan Stanley, Reliance Industries.
